Lesson Summary

The Place Value Chart is a visual aid to represent numbers in their respective place values:

  • The chart is divided into columns: millions, thousands, ones, and decimal numbers (with extension infinitely to the right).
  • Each set of 3 places on the whole number (left) side of the decimal point represent a period.
